Steps for Installing a BMX Brake
We will walk you through the process of mounting a BMX brake on your BMX bike. Carefully follow each step with the accompanying images.
1. Start by inserting the long cable into the brake lever.
2. Align all three openings by adjusting the cable tightener. Proceed to insert the cable into it.
3. Securely close the cable tightener.
4. Insert the cable end into the cable carriers beneath the frame, directing it towards the rear of the bike.
5. Upon completion, the setup under the frame should resemble this.
6. Next, attach the short cable on top of the brake arm.
7. Wrap the cable around the seat post tube.
8. Next, secure the short cable end onto the lower brake arm. Ensure the cable passes through the hole in the bolt situated on the brake arm.
9. Use a 10mm spanner to tighten the bolt on the brake arm, achieving a setup similar to the picture shown below.
10. Attach the cable connector to the end of the long cable.
11. Firmly tighten both the cable and bolt on the cable connector using a 10mm spanner.
12. Adjust the brake pads so they align perfectly with the rim's edge.
13. If there is extra cable, trim it to suit the available length.
14. Lastly, secure the cable ends and close them on both cables using pliers.
