Is Griptape Necessary for Cruiser Boards?

Absolutely! You'll often find that complete cruiser boards are sold with griptape, which is essential for maintaining control when cruising through cityscapes. Though, over time, cruiser griptape will deteriorate. If you notice the adhesive weakening, it's an indicator that replacement is necessary. While traditional cruiser board griptape is typically black, opting for vibrant designs or branded logos can be a fantastic way to personalize your board's appearance.

For pennyboards, the upper waffle texture should generally provide enough grip on its own, eliminating the need for tape. However, if you prefer enhanced grip or simply wish to give your board a unique look, applying pennyboard griptape remains an option.
