Backcountry Cross Country Ski Boots
Constructed for Warmth and Comfort, Backcountry Cross Country Ski Boots
Designed for diverse terrains and snow environments beyond groomed paths, backcountry cross country ski boots can be likened to hiking boots. Spending multiple days walking and skiing calls for boots that are comfortable, stable, and warm.
BC ski boots, though they don't excel in power transfer, shine in providing the reliability and sturdiness needed for extensive snow treks. Leather is the typical material, with most boots featuring Thinsulate insulation to ensure warmth. Additionally, BC ski boots are equipped with high cuffs, reducing the chance of snow entering the boot and offering crucial support for the ankles.
Exclusively Compatible with Backcountry Cross Country Bindings
When selecting backcountry cross country boots, ensure they are compatible with your BC bindings. The backcountry employs two primary binding systems: NNN BC and the 75 mm (3-pin) toe system, both only accommodating backcountry boots. Explore our Cross Country Backcountry Binding range for compatible bindings.
These ski boots are available in two sole types suitable for the different binding systems. The more typical sole attaches to the binding via a metal rod, similar to classic boots, and is compatible with NNN BC systems. Boots that work with the 75 mm toe system have a toe nib akin to telemark boots and include a broader, thicker metal bar at the toe, which prevents compatibility with standard cross country bindings.
