Nikwax
It was 1977, and Nick, at 22 years old, crafted his initial order using a discarded tea urn, a stove, a jug, and supplies purchased from a local hardware shop. He poured the soft wax into tins which he personally screened. Nick travelled in his used Morris 1000 van, selling his items to the outdoor trade.
Within a few years, he transitioned to a workshop in Clerkenwell, London. Before long, Nick was exporting and distributing his Nikwax to eight countries. 'The product' was a waterproof wax that didn't soften, specifically designed for leather boots. This wax was so efficient that it established a new standard for aftercare products under the Nikwax brand.
