Stay in Control With the Appropriate BMX Steering Equipment
For BMX enthusiasts, it's crucial to have gear that responds just as you need it to. This is where effective steering is essential. Similar to other BMX components, the steering gear is designed for strength and longevity.
While the handlebars are used for turning, numerous elements affect your steering capabilities. For instance, the fork is key to how responsive your steering feels. On the other hand, the top cap maintains the headset's position, ensuring the bars rotate smoothly.
Is Raising BMX Handlebars Possible?
Generally, yes! You will need BMX Tools along with an Allen key. Start by loosening the screws that secure the stem. You will then loosen the compression bolt. After loosening these, slide the stem out of the steering tube.
Subsequently, adjust the bars to your desired height using spacers. Add enough spacers to the steering tube to allow the bar and stem to reach your preferred height.
Once satisfied, reinsert the stem and secure it. Make sure that the handlebar aligns with the fork. If spacers are insufficient for the height you seek, consider choosing a taller bar or a top load stem with added rise.
