Longboard Risers & Longboard Shock Pads
Why Use Longboard Risers?
Longboard riser pads, often referred to as risers, are small plastic pieces that are placed between your longboard deck and truck. They elevate the longboard's height, which helps to avert wheelbite.
Riser pads come in two styles: flat, rectangular risers and angled, wedge risers. Flat risers follow the typical design and come in assorted thicknesses. Angled risers not only increase your deck height but also change the angle of the kingpin and the pivot point, enhancing your board's front-end turn capabilities.
Are Shock Pads Necessary for Your Longboard?
Similar to risers, longboard shock pads raise your deck height but also serve to dampen vibrations, providing a smoother ride. This added protection is beneficial if you're navigating uneven surfaces and seek to safeguard your deck.
Keep in mind that if you opt for riser or shock pads, it's crucial to ensure your bolts are sufficiently long to accommodate the new configuration. For verification, consult our Bolts & Riser Pads Guide. Should you require new hardware, visit our Nuts & Bolts for Longboards page.
