Aggressive Skate Frames / UFS Frames
Frames for Aggressive Inline Skating: Designed for Grinding
Your setup's frames play a crucial role in aggressive skating. Essentially, they not only keep the wheels secure but also endure the grind, a fundamental aspect of the sport. Typically, they are constructed from thick-walled plastics to withstand the severe impacts associated with grinding.
All aggressive frames adhere to the Universal Frame System (UFS) for mounting, ensuring compatibility with any aggressive boot regardless of the manufacturer. UFS frames facilitate easier and more convenient customization of your aggressive skates.
Various Styles of Aggressive Skate Frames
A range of designs exists for aggressive inline skate frames; however, the three primary styles include anti-rocker, flat, and freestyle.
Anti-Rocker
Anti-rocker frames enjoy the most popularity and are usually recommended for beginners in aggressive skating. These frames feature four wheels, with the middle two being smaller and made from hard plastic. This configuration allows for a substantial groove in the centre suitable for grinding.
Flat
Flat frames support four wheels of identical size, unlike anti-rocker systems where all wheels contact the ground. This design provides superior handling among the setups and is ideal for bowl skating and transition skating. With even weight distribution, your wheels tend to have a longer lifespan.
Freestyle
Freestyle frames are distinguished by having only two wheels on each skate, leaving a significant groove in the middle. This design makes them excellent for grinding without the risk of wheel bite, allowing you to grind on a broader variety of obstacles.
Regardless of the frame style you choose, ensure that they are adequately sized for your wheels. If you're considering new wheels for your aggressive setup, visit our Aggressive Skate Wheels page.
